I prefer hotels that are close to transport hubs; have basic facilities suited to solo traveller (mainly, washing machines); and have convenient eating options nearby (usually found in/around á train station). Washington hotel met these requirements. The hotel shows its age around the edges, but there was actually some charm in the old style gilt mirrors, etc. Other small bonuses: quiet, even though close to train line (Tottori not very busy anyway); good view of city and surrounding hills from upper floor room. Room size more than adequate. Too bad I didn't have the time to stay another couple of days. I would have enjoyed it.

Washington properties are aging, and so is this one. However, it's location is spot on with a big public parking lot across the street (don't miss the 100JPY rebate from the from the front desk, wooohoooo!!!) and there is a fair breakfast. Like many, Washington's are getting distanced by emerging, more agressive competition, just like the hole country on the world scene. Is it a cultural thing? I think the staff knows this and they do the extra to make you welcomed.

buildings and facilities are old, but clean and quiet. 3 mins from the station. staffes are nice.

Good prices good location and services. Rooms was cozy and clean, staff make up the room everyday.Hotel gived many essential stuffs during our stay.
